"My passion is helping people maintain or grow in their healthy and active lifestyle. When acute or nagging injury limits activity and movement, it can have a ripple effect through your whole system and well-being. While we treat the acute area of pain and inflammation through techniques like manual therapy, our primary goal is to find the root cause, utilizing neuromuscular re-education, so that over time it doesn't become a recurring issue. As an orthopedic certified specialist, I am dedicated to ensuring our approach addresses both immediate concerns and long-term health." - Kendra Cichy, PT, DPT, OCS
Myofascial release, craniosacral release, and joint mobilization are all essential techniques used in manual therapy. These methods are often part of an osteopathic based treatment plan that aims to improve the body's function. Additionally, orthopedic certified specialists may incorporate soft tissue mobilization and neuromuscular re-education to enhance recovery and promote optimal movement.
Flexibility training, alongside manual therapy, plays a crucial role in mobility enhancement. Strengthening and stabilization exercises can be complemented by neuromuscular re-education techniques. Additionally, orthopedic certified specialists often recommend home exercise programs as part of a comprehensive performance training regimen.
Balance training is essential for improving stability, and it often involves techniques such as proprioception re-education. This process can be enhanced through manual therapy and is complemented by muscle energy techniques and PNF stretching. Additionally, orthopedic certified specialists may utilize kinesiotaping to support neuromuscular re-education during recovery.
Trigger point dry needling is a key aspect of manual therapy that helps alleviate muscle tension. Our orthopedic certified specialists provide custom orthotics to enhance your comfort and support during activities. We also perform ergonomic assessments to ensure optimal posture and reduce strain. Additionally, running evaluations are available to improve your performance and prevent injuries. For those dealing with work injuries, our approach includes neuromuscular re-education to promote effective recovery.
Pre/post-partum care often benefits from manual therapy techniques, while pelvic pain treatment may include neuromuscular re-education to enhance recovery. Incontinence therapy can also be supported by orthopedic certified specialists who provide targeted interventions, and post prostatectomy care may involve specialized approaches to ensure optimal healing.
Ultrasound therapy, along with manual therapy techniques, plays a crucial role in rehabilitation. We utilize E-stim, IFC, TENS, and NMES for effective neuromuscular re-education. Additionally, cervical traction is employed by our orthopedic certified specialists to enhance patient outcomes. Lontophoresis is also available as part of our comprehensive treatment options.
Ankle sprains and injuries, arthritis, back pain (upper & lower), chronic pain & fibromyalgia, and foot pain are some of the conditions that can benefit from manual therapy techniques. Whether it's tennis or golfer's elbow, hand and wrist pain, headaches, or hip pain and injuries, our orthopedic certified specialists are equipped to help. Knee sprains and injuries, as well as those resulting from motor vehicle accidents, can be effectively treated with neuromuscular re-education. We also address neck pain, rotator cuff injuries, sciatica, and shoulder injuries, ensuring comprehensive care for sports injuries, TMJ/TMD, and vestibular disorders.
